Ambleside Artisan Farmers Market in West Vancouver

Ambleside Farmers Market

The Ambleside Artisan Farmers Market is a welcoming, medium-sized market that takes place every Sunday from early May until the end of October in Ambleside Park, West Vancouver. With its picturesque seaside setting, a wide variety of vendors and a relaxed atmosphere, it’s one of the most enjoyable weekend markets in the Lower Mainland.

This market is one of three operated by the Artisan Farmers Market Society in Metro Vancouver. The other two are the Burnaby Artisan Farmers Market on Saturdays near Deer Lake, and the Brentwood Artisan Farmers Market on Sundays at The Amazing Brentwood shopping centre in Burnaby.

Weekly Market Details

The Ambleside Artisan Farmers Market is open every Sunday from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm, running from early spring to late fall. It’s located in Ambleside Park’s parking lot, right at the bottom of 13th Street. The place is a short walk south of Marine Drive in West Vancouver.

This market features up to 40 vendors each week, offering a diverse selection of high-quality goods including:

  • Fresh produce and organic meats
  • Artisan baked goods, jams, honey and preserves
  • Locally made crafts, jewelry and clothing
  • Specialty pet foods and mini donuts
  • Crepes, chocolates, salsas, dried foods and even craft spirits

As an artisan-style farmers market, the focus is on handcrafted, small-batch products and locally grown food. It’s a great spot to shop for unique items and support local farmers, makers, and creators.

Why Visit the Ambleside Farmers Market?

One of the standout features of this market is its location. Just steps away from Ambleside Beach, the area offers stunning views of the ocean, mountains and downtown Vancouver. The market itself may be set up in a parking lot, but the surrounding natural beauty, park space and walking trails more than make up for it.

In addition to the market, visitors can enjoy a sandy beach, children’s playground, skate park, and scenic walking and biking paths. A short walk east takes you to Park Royal Shopping Centre, while heading west brings you to John Lawson Park and Dundarave Village—making it easy to spend an enjoyable full day in the area.

The Ambleside market tends to be lively but not overcrowded, which adds to its charm. It offers the perfect balance: large enough to feel dynamic and interesting, but without the overwhelming crowds found at some of the region’s bigger markets.
