Vancouver’s Summer Night Markets
Summer in Metro Vancouver brings an incredible lineup of night markets filled with food, shopping, music and entertainment. From North Vancouver to Richmond, White Rock and New Westminster, each market has its own personality and is worth exploring.
Richmond Night Market
The Richmond Night Market is famous as the largest night market in North America. Found at 8351 River Road in Richmond, this massive event showcases hundreds of vendor stalls and attracts huge crowds each summer.
The market is especially known for its Asian food stalls, international products, and bustling festival atmosphere. The smells, flavours and energy make it feel like a true cultural adventure. Running from spring to fall on weekends and holiday Mondays, it’s a must-visit for food lovers.
White Rock Night Market
The White Rock Night Market is a newer addition to the region’s summer events. Held at Memorial Plaza and the White Rock Promenade, it runs once a month from May through September.
Presented with the support of the Greater Vancouver Food Truck Festival, this community-driven market features local artisan vendors, food trucks and live music. With its oceanfront setting, the White Rock Night Market has a relaxed and family-friendly atmosphere.
North Vancouver’s Shipyards Night Market
The Shipyards Night Market is one of the most popular summer events on the North Shore. Located at Shipbuilders’ Square near Lonsdale Quay in North Vancouver, it runs on Friday evenings from late spring through early fall.
Visitors can browse artisan vendors, enjoy food from dozens of trucks, and relax with a drink in the lively beer garden. A full lineup of live bands creates a festive atmosphere, and the waterfront location offers sweeping views of Burrard Inlet and downtown Vancouver. The market is just steps away from the SeaBus terminal, making it easy to get to from the city.
Fridays on Front (New Westminster)
New Westminster’s Fridays on Front transforms Front Street Mews into a lively night market during select Fridays in July and August. The event features local vendors, food trucks and themed entertainment each week.
Past themes have included Bollywood Bash, New West Pride and Car Free Day, offering something new every weekend.
Fort Langley Night Market
The Fort Langley Night Market was a beloved addition to the region’s event calendar between 2021 and 2024. It ran every Friday from late June to September, featuring live music, local vendors, food, and licensed drinks.
Unfortunately, the event isn’t happening in 2025 due to site challenges. Despite this, Fort Langley remains a fantastic destination for day trips with its historic village charm, boutique shops and local eateries.
Other Information
In addition to night markets, Vancouver is home to a wide variety of farmers markets throughout the Lower Mainland. These happen on weekdays and weekends in neighbourhoods like Downtown Vancouver, Port Coquitlam, Abbotsford, Burnaby and more.
During the holiday season, the Vancouver Christmas Market at Jack Poole Plaza beside the Vancouver Convention Centre transforms the city into a European-style Christmas village, running from late November until just before Christmas.
