North Vancouver’s Shipyards Night Market
The Shipyards Night Market is one of the most popular summer events in North Vancouver. Held every Friday evening from May to September, the market takes place at Shipbuilders’ Square at the foot of Lonsdale Avenue, just steps away from Lonsdale Quay and the SeaBus terminal.
The first day of the season for the market in 2026 is May 15th and the final date is September 11th.
Note: New for 2026, for seven weeks of the summer, the market will take the form of a street party at a different location from usual. Between June 12th and July 17th, instead of happening in the heart of the Shipyards District, in its usual location, the Shipyards Night Market will instead take place in a street-party format, a couple of blocks up the hill, between Lonsdale Avenue and St. George’s Street.

What to Expect at the Shipyards Night Market
The Shipyards Night Market is a lively, family-friendly event that features:
- Live music every Friday evening
- A vibrant beer garden serving local craft beer
- A wide selection of food trucks and culinary vendors
- Dozens of artisan stalls with handmade goods
Crowds often number in the thousands, with up to 10,000 visitors on warm, sunny nights. The atmosphere at the market is upbeat, and it’s a popular spot for locals and tourists alike to soak up the summer vibes on the North Shore.
A Unique Market Experience in Lower Lonsdale
Unlike traditional bargain-focused night markets, the Shipyards Night Market offers a more upscale, community-oriented experience. Shoppers can usually browse handcrafted jewelry, local artwork and organic produce. There are often baked goods, jams, chocolates, and small-batch goods from local makers too.
With food trucks galore, scenic waterfront views, and free live performances, it’s also a great place for people-watching and enjoying summer nights by the water. Over the course of the year, between May and September, over 150,000 people attend the event!
Location & How to Get There
The Shipyards Night Market takes place at Shipbuilders’ Square, located at 138 Victory Ship Way in North Vancouver.
It’s just a five-minute walk from Lonsdale Quay, home to the SeaBus terminal and a year-round public market. Across the street you’ll find restaurants, cafés and the Pinnacle Hotel. The area has a rich shipbuilding heritage, still visible today through restored buildings and a historic crane in the square.
